Every year all of the fashion girlies begin to plan what could be the most unique but hot costume. It also depends on your hair color and creativity! I have been pretty much every hair color, here are a few ideas that are based on your hair color.
Blondes
I was blonde most of my life so I have done almost everything in the book here were my favorites:
Bride of Chucky: This was my best work! It also is very easy to do with regular clothes you may have and just dressing it up with some accessories. I wore a white corset and a white mini skirt. My shoes were a little more rocker girl coded because that's more of her vibe. I also wore a black leather jacket to match the shoes. Add lots of dark eye makeup, a blow out, and her wedding ring, tattoo, and some jewelry and you're set!
Girl Beetlejuice: I wore a black corset and sewed my own mini skirt with his pattern (which is much easier than it sounds). Add some green stripes in your hair and green eye makeup and your ready to find your bride.
Aquamarine: This is something nostalgic for the girls that grew up on this movie. Aqua strips in your hair or tinsel. Wear a aqua dress and have shell earrings. Definitely have crimped hair!
Brunettes and Black hair
These are very unique but perfect for this year:
The other mother from Coraline: If I had black hair I would do this! I almost debated dying my hair black for this! This year polka dots are in like never before and if you have black hair you are lucky! Wear a polka dot mini dress, you can draw buttons somewhere (probably on your face), curl your hair, and wear a key necklace with red lipstick and you are set!
Mummy: I am going to be a mummy this year but I feel like it looks best with dark brown hair. This is super simple to make yourself with a lot of wrap. Lot of creative eyeliner and dark makeup! This is very easy to get creative on!
Red Hair
It's hair not to be unique when you have red hair:
Jessica Rabbit: I wore a red corseted dress, very tall red heels and purple gloves. Red lipstick honestly made this look! Some very dark purple eyeshadow and I had the girls coming up to me asking if I was Jessica Rabbit all night!
Strawberry Shortcake: She is a classic and her style is very unique and noticeable. Everyone will know who you are and you can be as unique as you want without trying too hard.
Thoughts on Costumes
It is a cold season but sometimes the sacrifices are worth it for a cute, unique costume! I hope this helps get your creativity flowing. It is hard to pick ones that haven't been done but it helps finding basic ones and making it your own!
Basing your costume on your hair color always makes things more difficult, but also the challenge can be fun!
